About The Site

I like walking and keeping track of where I’ve been. I’m a web designer and developer by trade so put those things together and you get this website.

I’ve tried to make this website as useful to you as possible. Before I go on a walk, I plan it by working out the route using OS Getamap, export it as a GPX file for use on my phone through ViewRanger, check out the local area on Geograph.org.uk and figure out how to get there using Google Maps. Everything I use is available for download along with the photographs I’ve taken on the way on my lovely old Canon EOS D60.

All photos are uploaded un-watermarked in 1920 x 1200 resolution to my Flickr account so you can have a right good look and use as you please, subject to this Creative Commons licence. I find it annoying when I go to a website and it’s filled with lovely pictures that are way too small to see any detail so try to avoid that here.

If mobile networks allow, I post photos on Twitter while I’m out and about. You can follow me if you like, just go to @GoWalkingAbout.

A little about me: I’m Scott Brown, born in Orpington, Kent in 1981. I moved to West Yorkshire for uni in 2001 and stayed and now work for a Promotional Merchandise company in Cleckheaton named LSi.

You can find me on Twitter at @scottbrown_14 and I keep a few other sites such as scottbrown.me.uk which contains information on my web design life, scologic.wordpress.com which is a simple blog and tuestunim.com, an old website refreshed but I’m still not sure what to do with.
